If they do get you before the Citronella has chased them away, you can apply diluted Citronella Oil to your bites as it calms the itchiness by reducing inflammation due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Citronella oil reduces acne breakouts by controlling oil production, treats minor skin infections and assists in the faster healing of wounds due to its antimicrobial properties.

The oil is made through the steam distillation of the leaves and stems of citronella grass.

Precautions

Undiluted Citronella essential oils should not be swallowed. Use it in a diffuser, make candles or sprays for insect repellants, or for topical use for skin concerns, mix it with carrier oils like Jojoba Oil or Coconut Oil.
